Sepang - Lotus-Renault GP will create another sensation at the 2011 Malaysian F1, this weekend (10 / 4).
The team is based at Enstone sprinkle R31 with 22-carat gold livery on the front wing, sidepods and engine cover.
"I believe the R31 one of the best F1 car today but we want to make it more specific to F1GP Malaysia," said Eric Boullier, CEO of Lotus-Renault GP.
"Combining real gold in the livery is not without challenges, but the technicians have done an extraordinary job for racing this weekend," added Boullier.
Besides looking better, James Allison heads a team mechanic gold revealed elements can serve as ballast for the car, so as to enhance stability.
